What Are the Advantages of Using FlashTool?

Using FlashTool

Once you’ve installed FlashTool, using it is very intuitive.

To get started, make a copy of your phone’s original firmware.
You must have all the correct driversinstalled for your computer to recognize your phone.
Copy your phone’s firmware and paste it to the firmware folder in FlashTool (Found in C:\Flashtool).
Start FlashTool from the Window’s start button – All Programs – FlashTool (this will appear as either FlashTool or FlashTool64 in 64 bit PC’s.)
Click the lightning bolt icon.
Select Flashmode and click OK. (In this example we’ll be usingFlashmode)
You’ll see a list that includes thefirmware you just copied to theFirmwares folder. Select the FTF file.
Click the Flash button.
Wait for the computer to ask you to connect in Flash Mode. To do this, make sure your phone is off. Press the right combination of buttons to enter Flash Mode (check for your phone model’s combination below) and, while continuing to hold down those buttons, connect the phone to your computer using the USB cable. Do not release those buttons during the flashing process!
Once it’s done, remove the USB cable and turn on your phone.
And wait while the system finishes installing the firmware.

Update your device wirelessly

If a message says that an update is available, tap Install Now. You can also follow these steps:

If you see an error or need more space when updating wirelessly

If you see an error message while trying to update your device wirelessly, learn what to do. If you need more space for a wireless update, you can update using iTunes or delete content manually from your device. Whether you use iTunes or update wirelessly, you'll have the same amount of free space on your device after you update.

Some iOS software updates aren't available wirelessly. VPN or proxy connections might prevent your device from contacting the iOS update servers.

Update your device using iTunes

If you can’t update wirelessly on your iOS device, you can update manually using iTunes on a computer that you trust. If your computer is using Personal Hotspot on the iOS device that you’re updating, connect your computer to a different Wi-Fi or Ethernet network before you update.

Install the latest version of iTunes on your computer.
Connect your device to your computer.
Open iTunes and select your device.
Click Summary, then click Check for Update.
Click Download and Update.
If asked, enter your passcode. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

If you see error messages in iTunes or need more space to update

Get help if you see error messages while updating your device with iTunes. Or if you need more space for an update, you can delete content from your device manually.
